[don't worry about it, it makes sense to reference it when it's relevant]
Daiko almost flowed up into a fighting stance, preparing for the worst. He's not gonna KILL us.....is he? It was soon time to pull out his weapon, but he wanted to conceal it until the last minute.

Alina stood and braced herself, she hadn’t researched summoning techniques beyond simple weapon scroll retrieval summons making it so that she had no real idea what would happen however looking at her team mates weapons she had already peiced together that Noah would handle close range fighting the threat directly, Daiko would handle mid range attempting to restrain the threat with his chains, and that left Alina to ranged support, thankfully she was already carrying the appropriate umbrella which she carefully opened again.
The smoke cleared then to reveal a strange creature, it was a eel alright but much larger, the size of a medium dog in length wearing a jacket and helmet armed with a kunai. Eels weren’t suppose to be able to breath out of water, so it seemed that this eel had countered it by gathering a layer of water around his being, this must have been ninjutsu, also the eel wore the cloud village symbol and was armed with a kunai, a ninja animal, probably the first of its kind the students had seen. The eel spoke with a voice befitting an older human male, which was thick with anger “Oh what is it NOW boy?! Don’t you know I have official business to attend to? You cant just summon me when ever you feel like it!” K remained calm, or was it perhaps fatigue from all his work lately as he said “its good to see your doing well Namerakana… do you see those kids over there? They’re my new students, and I summoned you to help me test their skills” The eel named Namerakana scoffed at him and said “I’m not some kind of baby sitter boy, why couldn’t you summon Tetsuo-kun’s team to handle that?” K smiled and said teasingly “oh I get it, your afraid to go up against a few human genin… well sorry to bother you then” This did not sit well with Namerakana who was by now hopping mad “I most certainly am not! Besides if these are your students they’re probably a lot of disrespectful overconfident hacks like you! At least I know a thing or two about teaching young ones, well at least you had the sense to call someone who knows what they’re doing, fine Ill accept but completely by choice!” K sighed “good, well I didn’t actually have a lecture in mind, I doubt a genin could stay awake long enough through one of your speeches… no I was thinking we play a simple game of ninja tag; if they can catch you by the time I finish playing a song they win, if they don’t catch you in time you win and I’ll stop summoning you for a whole week” Namerakana thought a moment “heh! that’s pretty malicious of you boy, haven’t you heard the expression ‘as slippery as an eel’ the Unagi ninja cant ever be captured so easily!” K leapt back on to a tree branch and pulled out his shamisen “in that case, ready, set, go!”

Daiko flung a chain around Namerakana, attempting to wrap him horizontally and at 30, 80, and 45 degrees. This obviously wasn't going to catch him completely but it was enough to distract hopefully long enough for support from his teammates.

Noah ripped the claws off from their place around his waist, and threw them at a patch of grass, which caught onto them for him. He then crouched more, before shooting forward. He didn't expect to catch the eel: rather, he wanted to catch it off guard so his teammates could catch it. He grabbed for the eel as he sailed over it, not expecting a positive result.

Unfortunately for them both attacks were directed at the same point and the chains ended up being pinned to the ground between the blades of the claws, neither of which reached their target. Seeing this the eel fired a bolt of lightning in to the chains and claw aiming to shock their welders as he slithered away.
K made notes of this, apart each attack would have been successful but together they had failed, the academy had taught them to succeed individually, teamwork was something they’d have to use in this exorcise, the test was not only to see their jutsu but also to test their leadership qualities for squad captain.
A claw… and manipulating chains, well they weren’t bad abilities, but Alina had been right about her role being ranged support, it seemed that long range wasn’t either of their best skills she fell back with her umbrella ready, then turned the umbrella around and grasped it by the front rather than the handle, then aiming this cone upward, suddenly a large burst of needles fired out from the umbrella itself “Umbrella style; rapid fire senbon!” these arced in to the air and fell around where the eel was headed, cutting his path off, though this only cause the eel to veer left slithering with speed fro his water armor

Daiko fell to the ground, a little frazzled, his hair a little messier. "That....wasn't smart....." He picked himself up, pulling his chain back to him. "Hmmm....this is gonna be tricky."

Noah sighed... "Sorry, Daiko! I didn't mean for that to happen..." How to do this... The eel was slippery, and had no pinnable points to speak of. The water just increased the slipperiness... wait... "Alina! Can you try to remove the water from the eel? Daiko, can you try to trap the eel with your chain? I can try to catch him if your attempts work..." Noah crouched, ready to attack the eel if Daiko and Alina succeeded.

"Gotcha!" Daiko responded, preparing for the attack. "Ready Noah! Alina, you're up!" Gyaaah! I forgot honorifics for them both.....!

Alina was running after the eel, the needles moving from the ground back in to her umbrella "I dont know if I could do that, my water style cant overpower other chakra that well... but I think I have a beter plan! Umbrella style: rain of senbon!" throwing the umbrella high above the eel it flew and spun at very high speeds before shooting countless needles downward at the eel, which landed around it in a circle, cutting off his movment from all sides for the time being.
The eel smiled "Ill just blast it away, water style; hyrdo cannon jutsu!" he began to inhale though his gills strongly, ready to send out a powerfull blast of water to blow some of the needles away if her team members didnt do something "Now Daikon! While hes prepairing a water jutsu, his focus will be diverted and he shouldent be able to use his lighting style!"

Daiko flung two chains at the eel, both attempting to wrap him up good while he was distracted. The hook charm was one of the chains, if successfully wrapping him it would lock the chains in place through a link.

Seeing that Alina had handled the distraction and Daiko was holding the eel back, Noah crouched, and took off. He shot at the eel, trying to grab him as he went. He really hoped their ploy had worked...

Miraculusly the plan was a sucess, as the eel blasted his water he was propelled backward in to daikon's chains then tward Noah, disipearing in to smoke just after being caught.

Noah looked at his empty hands, really surprised that he had gotten the eel. He remembered the feel of it: so slippery and slimy. He was glad he didn't have to hold onto it... "Did we... do well?"

K stoped playing and landed swiftly beside them "you caught him in half a song, thats pretty good for a first trial, in fact most of my former students failed to catch him the first time around, however I was watching and I think for now your training is going to consist of gaining a full knowledge of the equipment and jutsu of your team mates, however I will also impart a jutsu to each of you to practice durring that time"
Alina collected her needles as she did before, what a stubborn, spitefull eel that was, disapearing to try and avoid a simple game.

Daiko retracted the chains, putting them under his shirt and wrapped around his wrists. He bowed respectfully "Arigato, K-sensei." he seemed to pay much attention to formalities.

Noah looked at Daiko and Alina, murmuring, "Great job you two..." In an even lower tone, mostly so he could hear it only, he said, "I didn't do anything..." He looked up at K, and nodded slowly. "Thank you, K-sensei..."

Alina folded her umbrella again, she usually researched her own techniques, but she figured shed hear K-sensei out
First K addressed Daiko “Your chain jutsu is impressive, you use raiton chakra to move the metal like I have done with wires, correct? However the chains pose a dangerous link to you, for this reason I’m going to ask you to attempt to learn a simple jutsu to avoid electrocution, some of the teachers at the academy use to teach it, its called the electrical resistance technique, basically what I want you to do is gather some of your chakra in to your fingertips or where ever the shock would be coming from and use the chakra as a counter current against the electricity to neutralize the charge touching you, it actually sounds much harder than it is… here” he handed him a kunai with a metal cube at its end “when you stab that kunai in to the ground the end will open and release a small, harmless amount of electricity, its good practice and you’ll know you’ve done it successfully when you no longer become shocked. Doing this will also enhance your raiton jutsu”
Next was Noah “You tried your hardest and had sound plans, but it seems that you just couldn’t get where you wanted fast enough, so Id like to train your legs. He lifted his foot to show Noah the greaves bracers and metal boots he wore. “it may not look like it but one of these weights over two hundred pounds, Im able to walk and jump normally because I always wear them, in fact they were a good way to strengthen my legs with minimal training during daily life, Id ask you to go down to the weapons center and ask for taijutsu leg weights, ask to start off at the genin level, then just put them on and wait to you adjust a bit before resuming your daily training, after that do not remove them, not only will your legs constantly get stronger, your speed will constantly improve. Also when your in a tight situation you can remove the weights for a sharp increase in speed allowing you to gain a large advantage over your opponents.”
Finally Alina “Earlier I noticed that you were a projectile specialist, but that your technique isn’t from around here, did you know that giving projectiles a magnetic charge is the basis of all lightning village projectile kenjutsu?” he held up his metal hand “I mostly use that technique to catch weapons with these, but typically it has much more complex uses, also it can be used to direct lightning to objects much more easily, I think you could complete your jutsu this way”
