(sorry it took so long! I've been recovering from nasal surgery...)
Guro’s comment tugged the corners of her mouth into a small grin. It was no small feat either. It seemed that when she wasn’t trying to kill him, she kind of liked him. It was something about his attitude. His drive and determination reminded him of a certain little, blue girl. If he did have as much determination as she did, he would definitely go places.
“Well, I figure keep my friends close…if I had any and keep my friends closer.” She said with a small chuckle, “Let’s see. I was out for about three days… I’d say about a week and a half.” It wasn’t too long to be out. It could have been worse if her best medical staff hadn’t been working on him 24/7. Tapping her fingers lightly on her chin she thought of what she’d ask him.
“So Guro, during our battle, you mentioned your now deceased village.” She said a little less than tactfully, “I figure as a Kage, I ought to know a little more about what happened there. What exactly brought this great calamity?”

Guro kinda expected this question, to be honest he wasn't too comfortable just telling it to anyone, but Fumiko had given him a tough fight, he figures she had earned at least an explanation.
"It happened a while ago, how long ago exactly I've forgotten, the day was like any other, I was already a Jonin there, my father was the ruler of the Village, and my two older brothers were his personal guard, I had chosen to stay as an ordinary shinobi, to get out of the Village more, not that it wasn't a good place to be.
A couple of missions, the daily meals, relaxing for the rest of the day in the Katsuda clan's complex, then to sleep, nothing out of the ordinary, I fully expected next day to be the same. Oh how wrong I was.
My ancestors had trodden over quite a few rivals to get where they were, they offered them to either serve them, or leave the land, to die if they returned. The descendants of these exiles banded together, until they were an ocean rather than an army.
Spies entered posing as tradesmen or clients over the previous few months, and planted Paper Bombs throughout the Village, in the dead of night, they detonated them all at once, the Jonin's residences were targeted primarily, killing off our best in their sleep, the weaker were left at the mercy of their sheer numbers.
the Katsuda complex was better guarded, and no spy dared try anything there, when my faimly found out, they went straight into battle, but they made sure I stayed out of the battle, I wasn't ready to face so many at once, so I was made to stay in the compound.
Eventually however, the sheer number of enemies wore my faimly down, and they died, I watched from on high, as the Village I loved, the only home I had, burned to ashes, I couldn't face that many, so I ran, and was able to leave virtually unopposed, they were too busy rasacking the charred remains to notice me, those who did saw my sword just before they died.
After that, I walked for weeks, I had to cross the Land of Wind and enter the Land of Fire, I missed the Sand Village altogether but I did eventually end up unconcious by the Leaf Village gates, before I knew it, I was asked to join the Leaf by the Hokage, with nowhere else to go, I decided it seemed the best thing to do."
Guro looked up at the ceiling for a moment before continuing.
"When I finally got word from my land, the news was not good, the bandits which killed my family, and burned my home to the ground, have settled in the charred remains, and the ones I called fellow Chaos ninja were thrown to the dogs or left as a feast for the crows. They now pillage the common people, demanding harsh taxes and cruel and depraved alternatives should they not be able to pay. Last I heard, they were calling themselves the Hidden Heaven Village, they mock me and all who stood with me, becoming mirror opposites of what we were, and stealing our secrets to start learning Jutsu of their own.
I'll go back there one day, when I am strong enough, and when I have collected enough Jutsu to annihilate every single living soul in that Village, and I will continue the legacy that brave men like my father and brothers took upon themselves to uphold, but until then, I must wait."
I guess I've bored you long enough, so I guess I'll ask a question now, or at least I would if I knew what to ask."
Guro chuckled again, keeping it low to avoid hurting himself.
"I guess I gotta ask something, or we'll be here for a while, so I'll guess I'll ask this, why are you interested in knowing of my Village of all things?"
Guro made another quiet chuckle while he waited for Fumiko's answer

Fumiko listened quietly with a dark expression painting her face. It indeed was a catastrophe that an entire village was lost. Really, it could have been anyone. She was glad that she had asked about it. It only made her think of how important it was to have strong ties to the other villages. Kirigakurei had been known for having an up and down relationship with the outside world and this had only made the village more vulnerable in some ways.
“Well, you had mentioned it during our battle and my curiosity was piqued.” She said simply, crossing one leg over the other. “Guess it’s my turn then, huh? Let’s see… how did you get selected for that crazy mission? Taking on a kage is serious business.”

"I guess it was a combination of reasons, chief among was my Kekkei Genkai, all those Jutsu you saw me use are specific to the Chaos Village, the Chaotic Copy Jutsu is even more exclusive as my Kekkei Genkai.
At the time of the destruction, there were only five in the entire village who could use it, me, my two older brothers and my parents, the Leaf is still very unsure about my capabilities, so they wanted to test it under pressure, what better way to do that than to face one of the few to have as much chakra as me.
I guess it was that, and the fact that on the off chance I were to die, the Leaf would be no weaker than when they didn't have me."
Guro seemed rather unphased by this, a piece of him was furious at the act, but he repressed it, as being a Jonin required of him.
"It's kind of wierd feeling, being sent to my possible slaughter with not even a farewell, I was given my orders and then hurried, more like shoved, out the door, then given travel rations and sent off.
I imagine I'm not welcomed by some of the administration, I'll be sure to knock a few skulls when I get back, they'll be in so much awe I made it back it shouldn't be difficult, you might not approve of your family history, but it's given you a fearsome reputation back in the Leaf, probably why they chose you to be my executioner."
Guro chuckled again, this time it was somewhat more, so some pain did wrack up his arms and legs, but it didn't seem to affect Guro too much.
"I'm kinda glad you decided not to kill me, about time someone smacked those elder's plots in the face.
Anyway, I guess my third question will have to be this, I didn't set off any summonings when I passed out did I? The blood I wiped off with my thumb was a bit of an insurance policy, though I imagine he's rather annoyed at not getting to come out."

Listening quietly in a respectful—almost reverent manner—Fumiko nodded occasionally. Her eyes were locked on his as she spoke, trying to pick up any hidden feelings. It definitely was tough on a shinobi when they seemed a little too expendable. Sure their job was to kill or be killed and at this point in time there seemed to be more shinobi than clientele, but each individual wanted to be at least acknowledged as a person. Fumiko hadn’t really thought of it before because she was so confident in her abilities, but speaking with Guro was opening her eyes a little bit. Perhaps she could go off of this and become a better kage.
“Nope, no summons that I saw.” She said after a long pause. She had turned inwardly for a while to think of what he had been talking about, it almost surprised her to talk in turn. It took her another moment to think up another question. This would be her third so far. “So Guro, how’s life for you now? Do you have a place to stay and everything?”

"I was able to get myself an abandoned building up on the cliff where they carve the Hokage faces, once again the elders quite visibly showed their disdain for an outsider like me, so I had to do it up solely with the money from missions.
I was able to keep my Jonin rank so I was able to start the high paying S and A rank missions, the Hokage seems to be alright with me joining the Village at least, so the missions I got were better suited to my abilities, and so my success rate has so far been good.
With the money and a missed meal or two I was able to reach an acceptable standard of living without handouts, I have a few people in the Village I could call friends, yet a rather underwhelming reputation for an outsider whos been admitted out of the blue into the Leaf, I have to say I expected a little more interest in the subject, the Leaf is famed for news spreading around it fast.
Anyway, as far as life is for me, it isn't too bad I guess, but it isn't quite the Chaos Village either."
Guro shifted slighlty to become more comfortable as he thought about his fourth question.
"Well, I guess I gotta ask something, so for lack of a better idea I'll ask the same question you asked me."

Fuimko snorted bemusedly at his redirection of her question. The only reason she had asked that was because she figured he was probably looking, or in some sorry excuse for housing considering his whole village had been destroyed. Her suspicions about his living conditions were mostly correct too.
“Well I have a nice house that suits my needs and wants. It’s a very nice place on the outskirts of the village. It’s been passed down through my family for a couple of generations.” She said, twiddling her thumbs, “Although I’m never home much anymore. Since I became Mizukage I’m at the office more than I am anywhere else. So I guess at this point, you could say I have two homes.”
For a moment, she paused. Her mind was running on several different tracks, trying to think of what to say, what to do, what to ask, etc. A very small part of her almost felt sorry for Guro and wanted to help him out. The only thing was, did she have the time and resources to? She was so busy running a village and other such things; she didn’t think she could bother with helping a shinobi that wasn’t even from her village.
“Guess it’s my turn, huh?” she said, “Let’s see… I can’t think of anything good, so I’ll go to the basics. What’s your favorite color?”

Guro had to try hard to restrain his laughter at Fumiko's remark so as it would not hurt him.
"I don't remember, strangely enough, I guess I stopped thinking about things like that when I made Chuunin.
A quarter of the way through already, I'm amazed we got this far, forgive me if I don't dance for joy but cirsumstances forbid me.
Anyway, fifth question, I guess I gotta ask, what's the story behind that Kusarigama of yours?"
Guro was clawing at ideas here, secretly, he was pleased to be speaking to fumiko, this was the longest anyone had spoke to him in a long time, so he was gonna try and at least finish the twenty questions.

(GAH! Sorry it took so long!)
What was the story behind her Kusarigama? There wasn’t really one that she could think of. Did all weapons have to have a back story? Maybe if she thought hard enough… well they kind of did have a story.
“Well I guess I just wasn’t different enough from everybody else.” She finally said after some thought, “Kusarigama aren’t really widely used weapons, but they are really nice weapons to work with. That and I didn’t want to wield a sword of any kind. I would rather not be associated with a certain family pariah.”
It wasn’t even to ten questions yet and she couldn’t think of any more. In all honesty, this was the longest casual conversation she’d ever had in her life. It would be a pity to end it now.
“Why do you ask?”

"Probably the same reason you just asked me why i asked, clawing at ideas, I'm guessing neither of us have been having a very charmed life recently, and that this is the most anyone has been speaking to either of us without being at the point of a kunai for a while.
It's true with me anyway."
Guro paused for a moment, then seemed to chuckle quietly.
"Quite ironic, the least sociable person in the Leaf getting along with someone from the Mist. I guess thats simply what comes with the title of my Village, truly, such an impossible idea can only be the work of chaos.
Sixth question, wheres the nearest room for let? I don't plan on spending more time here once I can walk, and I'll be needing a place to stay for a few days until I'm strong enough to travel."
((Finally back from Portugal and the worst connection ever (though this one ain't great either).
Found out someone made a picture of my character, I'll probably make a character picture thread in the General Discussion or something at some point in the future and explain the story behind why i got it.))

A small wicked grin tugged at the corners of the mizukage's mouth. How did she know he would ask something like that. It was true that she was never really seen as compassionate or truly kind. This sort of thing might shake up her sleepy little village just a little bit. Of course, she wouldn't help him unless he could offer her something in return, but she didn't know what she wanted from him quite yet. When the time came she'd spring it on him.
"There's a small guest house near my place that hasn't been used in decades. If it's in good repair, you can make use of it." she said, shifting uncomfortably in her brace for the umpteenth time that day, "For now, just concentrate on healing."

"Healing is all I can think of, deflecting several tons of rock isn't something I do on a regular basis, so I don't believe that nurse for a moment when she says I'm gonna be able to leave in a day.
It'll take at least three to get walking, and probably another four to be strong enough to travel, so you're stuck with me for a week longer I'm afraid.
Now then, your next question, or are you sufficiently bored of me yet?"
Guro tried to shift to become more comfortable, but his arms protested and he was forced to stay as he was. It was safe to say he was not enjoying himself.
